How the “keep your coverage” line was a lie from the beginning

How the “keep your coverage” line was a lie from the beginning

Hello, Dr. Keith Smith with you on behalf of the Free Market Medical Association (FMMA), thank you for joining me.

“If you like your insurance, you can keep it.” Is that a lie that many of you believed? I knew it was a lie when I heard it. I received this letter on May 31st, 2016 telling me that one year from then, my insurance would no longer be offered by this company.

This is a policy I had taken out 12 years ago and it’s a policy on which I had never made a claim, yet they are no longer offering this policy. I knew at the time, when the head of the U.S. government told us that if we liked our insurance that we could keep it, that I’d better scramble and find another option. I knew that what those in the government said about our insurance wasn’t true. Especially for those of us who liked our coverage.

Thanks to my friends Todd Marley and Tom Yakopin, I knew about West Penn Life & Health. I encourage you to go online and look at America’s Benefit. Together with this policy, plus one of the cautionary ministries, I now have even better coverage for less money than I was paying.

Another lie many of you believed. I never believed it, because my default is to not believe anybody in the government who says they are there to help me. I hope many of you are making that transition as well.

Thank you, we’ll see you next time.
